The guiding inspiration behind creating Wurus Art Jewelry came from my love and obsession for statement jewelry. I believe that unique jewelry empowers you to embrace your individuality and makes you feel like you are wearing a piece of art. Growing up, my late mother was my muse. She adorned herself with the most beautiful gold jewelry. The beauty and elegance she exuded transcended through her accessories, sparking my lifelong fascination with jewelry. Wurus Art Jewelry is my way of honoring her memory and my Senegalese African heritage.
Each piece is carefully handcrafted in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya that celebrates the skills and creativity of Maasai artisans. "Wurus" means gold metal in Wolof Senegalese language, my native language. The name captures the brand's essence by melding the rich gold tones of brass with stones and horn to create a one-of-a-kind jewelry.
